New Master's degree programme Bioinformatics
Masaryk University has accredited a new study programme Bioinformatics in cooperation between the Faculty of Informatics and the Faculty of Science.
At the end of September, Masaryk University officially accredited a new Bachelor's degree programme in Bioinformatics, which was created in close cooperation between the Faculty of Informatics and the Faculty of Science. This programme offers two focuses (Bioinformatics Software Development, Applied Bioinformatics), which students can choose during their studies according to their preferences. Radka Svobodová and Tomáš Raček from the Structural Bioinformatics research group also contributed to the preparation of this programme.
More information about this programme can be found on its website (Czech only). Applications can be submitted from November 1, 2024, with the first students starting the program in the Fall 2025 semester.
A follow-on Master's program is also currently in development.

On 7 November 2024, Ondřej Schindler, a member of the Structural Bioinformatics research group, was awarded the prestigious Vice-Rector's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Studies.
