Award for Excellence in Doctoral Studies
On 7 November 2024, Ondřej Schindler from the Structural Bioinformatics group received the Masaryk University Vice-Rector's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Studies.
During the last fortnight, seven of our colleagues successfully defended their thesis as the spring semester of 2024 slowly but surely ended. All theses were defended at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University.
Iveta Strnadová defended her master's thesis on "Automation of periodic updates of the ValTrendsDB web database". Iveta's work has greatly benefitted the Structural Bioinformatics research group by reliably automating weekly updates of the ValTrendsDB database, thus decreasing the amount of manual work required for these updates to transpire.
Martin Jediný defended his bachelor's thesis on "Replication of PDB validation server functionality in the MetaCentrum environment". Barbora Juríčková defended her bachelor's thesis on "Deployment of the OMERO system as part of the data workflow in the CELLIM laboratory". Filip Kovářík defended his bachelor's thesis on "Anonymizing experimental data in the MAFIL laboratory". Michal Oleksik defended his bachelor's thesis on "Software tools for analysis of ring 3D structure". Róbert Randiak defended his bachelor's thesis on "Enhancing the FAIRness of Gromacs software: Adding support to extract metadata in JSON/YAML formats". Dušan Veľký defended his bachelor's thesis on "Visualisation of tunnels in ChannelsDB using Mol*".
Congratulations to all seven of our colleagues!
