Award for Excellence in Doctoral Studies
On 7 November 2024, Ondřej Schindler from the Structural Bioinformatics group received the Masaryk University Vice-Rector's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Studies.
The traditional Czech conference XXIII. Meeting of Biochemists and Molecular Biologists took place from 12th to 13th November 2024 in the Hotel Continental in Brno. The event is organised by the Czech Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and two departments at the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University: the Department of Biochemistry and the National Centre for Biomolecular Research.
The Structural Bioinformatics group was represented at the conference with one poster and one oral presentation. On the first day, Aliaksei Chareshneu gave a presentation about Visualizing volumetric and segmentation data using MOL* volumes and segmentation 2.0. Viktoria Doshchenko participated with a poster presentation about the Web Tool for visualizing and analyzing ring structures in ligands.

Masaryk University has accredited a new study programme Bioinformatics in cooperation between the Faculty of Informatics and the Faculty of Science.
