The head of the Structural Bioinformatics research group, Prof. RNDr. Radka Svobodová, Ph.D., received her professorial appointment decree on 1 June 2026 in the Great Hall of Karolinum. She was appointed as a Professor in Biomolecular Chemistry and Structural Biology.
This appointment represents an important recognition of her long-standing scientific, educational, and organisational contributions in structural bioinformatics and cheminformatics. Her research focuses on the analysis of 3D structures of biomolecules, their fragments, and protein families, as well as the development of computational methods and software tools.
For the Structural Bioinformatics Research Group and the entire National Centre for Biomolecular Research, this appointment is an important acknowledgement of the quality and long-term direction of research at the interface of biology, chemistry, and computer science.
